What is CRÉATEUR Zine?
So you're wondering, 'what is Createur Zine and why does it exist?' Well, let's start with the why. Hi, I'm Aria and I created this magazine with a few things in mind. The main reason being I just can't get enough to do. I love creating.
This idea of creating not only a lifestyle brand but an all encompassing creative lifestyle brand is something that came to mind after a lot of thought and contemplation. You may be here because you are a supporter of my individual art and women empowerment illustrations. You may be here because of my previous featured artist blog where I featured one local artist a month. Now I hope you are here to discover the true intention behind what I create.
I've been through many manifestations of the way I create. Besides the mediums mentioned before (illustration, and writing) I have also written a series of poems, I've painted murals, I've blown glass, I've scratched on scratchboard, I've stick n' poked skin. One thing I know for sure about the way that I create is that it is a little scattered to say the least.
I have a hard time picking one medium to be solely devoted to because I love them all and I don't want to decide. I love diving into different art forms and learning all that I can about them and the creative lifestyles they lead. This is how CRÉATEUR was born. With each artist featured in each CRÉATEUR Magazine issue, we can then explore that artist's art form and the intricacies of the creative lifestyle they lead.
Something that is true to me as an artist is that I don't really enjoy taking the time to create the art itself all that much. Once I have dove into an art form and tried it out, I'm ready to move onto the next. Why? Because it's not about the task of creating the art piece.
CRÉATEUR Magazine is not about creating the art itself. It is about learning and expanding. Expanding who you are at your core and learning how to express yourself in a way that is true to you.
It's about yearning to know more about the creative lifestyle and those who live it. What makes the creative lifestyle so lovely? What draws you to it, and what parts of it make you pull away. How far are you willing to go to find yourself as a creative?
This brand I created that I call CRÉATEUR is a brand of intention. The lovely part of creating is that there is no wrong way to do it. One thing my mother always says is that there are no mistakes in art. As artists we create what we create for ourselves, for the expression of what we feel matters in that very moment. Sometimes this initial intention can be clouded by demands of admirers, questions you don't have answers to, sales and deadlines, quantity over quality.
