CRÉATEUR’s Unpublished Créative Aziza Saliev

“The form of painting I do allows me to put hidden messages about values in life, people’s stories and some issues that go on in the world. I often get inspired by the graphics of Klimt, strokes of Monet and Van Gogh.”

I moved to the USA at the age of 19 from Tashkent, Uzbekistan. In the USA I continued my medical degree and got education in Registered Nursing, got married and had my two daughters of age 4 and 13. I have been painting and involved in art since my childhood but I never got an official education in art. In the USA I felt disconnected from the creative community until 2019 when I joined the Parklane Gallery in Kirkland. There I was able to promote my oil paintings of unique whimsical style with different messages and stories, and forests of impressionistic pointillism technique. Many collectors and followers of my art gave me confidence to continue and to develop my art.

“I am a self taught artist who is a first generation immigrant from Tashkent, Uzbekistan. I grew up surrounded by different cultures and traditions such as Uzbek, Turkish, Russian, Iranian and more where I often find my inspirations from. My oil paintings feature bright colors, disproportionate body forms and flowery designs depicting the life experience of a whimsical image of a young girl.”

“True life is lived when tiny changes occur.” - Leo Tolstoy

As in my paintings so in my life I try to maintain movement. Movement of shapes, strokes and the body of the girls I paint. The movement in life is sometimes fighting yourself and your life views to constantly get out of your comfort zone for small tiny changes to occur. The changes should not necessarily occur for the sake of change but as a goal to come closer to your true self. As well as art should be about truth not just beauty.

Ideas To Work By:

  • Stay true to yourself. This will help to come to your own style and voice. It will also help to ignore the pressure of the surrounding and all left will be you and your art. Truth in art is always beautiful and catches the eye of the ones who understand.

  • Keep moving. It’s hard as an artist to get attention of the audience and to get through the spaces to show your art and sell. So despite of all rejection and discouragement remember to keep moving, and only this will bring you to the success.

  • Remember to celebrate all small wins. As humans we tend to concentrate on negatives so remember to acknowledge each small achievement and this will bring you to the greater accomplishments.
