CRÉATEUR’s Unpublished Créative Kevin Radtke
“Finding form where there is none drives the process. Mistakes energize the editing process which takes the conversation in new directions and sometimes back to the starting point where a new topic is chosen.” - Creative Statement
“I moved around a lot while I was growing up, from the east coast I got a one way ticket to Seattle with no plan years ago and have never gone back. Without any formal training or art education I have been figuring this out through experimentation which I hope never changes.”
“Work begets creativity.”
The idea that you have to exert yourself in the world and in your creative process to get something creative going is very real to me. It does not flow out of me and is not really a leisure activity, it takes work to get there.
Ideas To Work By:
Focus on the things you consider mistakes in your process, this is where the unplanned things are and many times lead to different perspectives.
Practice your process everyday, when it doesn't lead to anything one day, the next you will have still exercised and will be better prepared for when it does go somewhere.
Don’t consider anyone else while working.
