Issue No. 11: Créatives’ Toolbox

Alison Stigora’s Sakura Koi Waterbrush

I’m primarily a sculptor, but my background is also in painting and drawing. Drawing is a big part of my creative process, and most of my sculptures begin as sketches. I love that this brush is convenient to carry anywhere, from daily use to being on a hike or traveling abroad. It’s great for field sketching with ink or watercolor.

Ash Haglund’s X-Acto Gripster Knife

My Elmer’s Silicone Grip exacto knife is by FAR the best thing I could never ever live without. Sometimes I have to make these impossibly tiny cuts in my collages, which requires firm precision. I’ve tried all kinds of metal finishes on various knives, and the grip comfort just isn’t there in the same way my silicone handle is. It’s my desert island art tool, for sure.

Jennifer Hui’s Notion App

I use this for organizing ideas, making project roadmaps, brainstorming, and writing design case studies! It’s a bit like a personal wiki workspace that provides layouts and toolkits to plan projects and work on goals. The user interface is simple and clean.
