Welcome to CRÉATEUR Club
Hi there, I’m Aria Bird. I’m the owner and founder of CRÉATEUR.
You might already know CRÉATEUR as a local creative lifestyle magazine that publishes a local Seattle Zine in each new season…
Well, I started that journey in 2020 with the idea that CRÉATEUR would be a seasonal magazine–featuring three local creatives each season and having some local guest articles as well. Like anything that is born, it grew. CRÉATEUR grew at a rapid pace, much more than I was expecting–which is so exciting! Yet, at the same time I was hitting a wall with not being able to sustainably wear all the hats I needed to wear to keep my business running…I’m sure many creatives know exactly what I’m talking about when I say wearing ALL the hats!
With beginning to feel slightly overwhelmed by CRÉATEUR’s success–seeing how much it was not only a wanted but a needed outlet in Seattle’s creative community–I knew it would be almost irresponsible to just close it down for the sake of my own needs. I know there is still a need to redefine the core approach to local creativity that isn’t being fully addressed yet….so instead I welcomed the idea of CRÉATEUR Club.
I can assure you turning CRÉATEUR into a membership club was not a light hearted decision. Sometimes when we face challenges, it forces us to evolve. Turning CRÉATEUR Zine into CRÉATEUR Club meant that not only could I then find more balance in my personal life, but I would be able to give more back to my local creative community AND give back better because I would be better.
So what is CRÉATEUR Club?? It’s actually not that far of a stretch from CRÉATEUR Zine in concept…
Let’s say you were a CRÉATEUR Zine subscriber….
This meant that each season (every three months) you would receive our new printed Zine issue in the mail. This issue would include 4-page spread deep dive articles on 3 Featured Creatives, a Creative Toolbox with recommended tools, some current events, maybe a guest article here and there, and lastly a directory in the back with local creative resources. At the beginning of each season we would hold a small issue release pop-up party. At the end of each season we would pay each of the 3 Featured Creatives 10% of our Zine sales and Pop-Up Release Party sales combined.
At it’s peak, this would come out to about $100 per Featured Creative.
Let’s say you are now a CRÉATEUR Club member….
This means that each season (every three months) you receive our new Member Box in the mail. This box includes a printed Creative Guide with available pieces, how to commission, rent, and style pieces in your home from the 3 Featured Creatives along with a short and sweet excerpt from their featured articles AND 1 printed artwork from each of the 3 Featured Creatives. Yes, I said that right, you get actual sample artwork prints from 3 local creatives in each new season!
..oh and did I mention we also give you a warm welcome with our CRÉATEUR Club Member Welcome Box? Upon signing up, you receive an exclusive CRÉATEUR Club Black Canvas Tote Bag and a member-only Annual CRÉATEUR Zine Volume (kinda like all of our previous CRÉATEUR Zine’s for the year placed into one larger, sexier, beautiful coffee table creative magazine). At the beginning of each season we would buy the alotted prints necessary from each Featured Creative of the season. At the end of each season we would pay each of the 3 Featured Creatives a % of our CRÉATEUR Club membership sales.
At it’s minimum, this could come out to about $1,040 per Featured Creative AND potentially more!
So what’s still available for those that decide not to be a CRÉATEUR Club member?
With CRÉATEUR evolving into a membership model, that doesn’t mean that all is lost for non-members. You will still have access to our blog where we will post each seasons Top 10 Must Know Creatives, Creative Tool Box, and Creative Partner and Community Guest Articles. You will have access to excerpts of our Featured Creative articles each season, but those full articles will be reserved for our member-only blog. Why? Well, because supporting local artists comes with more than just a blog post read, or a fleeting like on Instagram. Though those efforts are still valued and appreciated, the real effort of putting more meaning behind your words when you say, “I support local art.” comes with treating local creatives like the working professionals that they are and therefore paying for access to their hard earned work.
Another way you can get full access to all our Featured Creative articles is when you attend our Annual Gallery! Our Annual Gallery will be open to all! This Annual Gallery will be the one and only place that non-CRÉATEUR Club members can purchase our Annual CRÉATEUR Zine Volume containing all Featured Creative full length articles and exclusive printed only articles while supplies last.
