Two Birds Eco Shop
“The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge, but imagination.”
Autum’s favorite quote by Albert Einstein
In the years I’ve known Autumn she has never ceased to amaze me with her pure wit and determination. She not only continues to push her own creative limits but those around her as well - including me! I’ve gotten to watch her shop grow and transform with her. From a small Etsy shop selling handmade earrings and bracelets to an established shop with full on clothing items, purses, pouches, essential oils and more. Along the way we have collaborated through her confidence in me from designing her shop’s logo, to us making some awesome zipper pouches you can now find in the CRÉATEUR Gallery! With zipper pouches handmade by Autumn, and the designs hand painted by me.
One of the reasons Autumn has always caught my attention since the day I met her, is that she isn’t your typical Washington native. She is not only inspired by the eclectic pacific northwest features, but she’s grounded in it. There is this part of her that is so connected to nature and herself in a way that’s more than just going for a nature hike over the weekend, and you see that reflected in her shop’s values.
The name Two Birds Eco Shop has more to it than you might think. Autumn once told me that her shop’s name stems from the well known phrase ‘to kill two birds with one stone’, her shop’s purpose is founded on the value that when you buy something from her shop, you are setting two momentums with one action. One of them being, you are purchasing a product that you love. The other being, proceeds from that purchase go to a greater cause. From saving the turtles and oceans, to protecting women’s rights, and more.
And even further, as if this wonderful woman couldn’t get any more wholesome. I can promise you she is not using this ‘giving back’ mindset as a way to make you feel better for spending a pretty penny. Autumn eats, lives, and breathes this philosophy. Outside of her business, she takes international trips to animal rescue centers, and sit’s down to make thousands of heartwarming cards on Valentines Day to take to nursing homes and retirement centers every year. Yes, I said thousands. It is truly incredible the feats she goes to out of the kindness of her heart, and to see those values manifest in her passion for creating is inspirational.
