Meuffy

"My goal is to come to terms with death."

An odd statement coming from a young artist who is clearly filled with life. Everything she creates seems to invoke movement, perhaps due to her love of dance. There is a sense of unbridled passion, grabbing ahold of every moment with movement. She dances in the physicality of life through her art.

“I delve into spiritual, physics-driven, and magical-feeling ideas involving life and death. So much of the western culture experience focuses on individualism, and I think this is largely what has caused my fear of death. I fear losing my individuality, but I am finding comfort in the idea of being part of the ultimate One-the Universe.”

Meuffy (“MUFF-ee”) is a self-taught emerging artist working primarily in oil paint. Her body of work predominantly uses expressive, dancing figures in abstract color palettes to explore themes of mysticism and quantum physics. She began painting to process her questions and fears surrounding consciousness and mortality.

“I am fascinated by humanity’s fundamental oneness with the elements and the world around us. There is an inherent spiritual and scientific connection between everyone and everything in this Universe. Art is a vessel through which I meditate on and surrender to the nature of my own existence. “
