Loalynda’s Herstory

“Only those that see the invisible can do the impossible.”

Loalynda’s favorite quote by Frank L. Gaines

Early in Loalynda’s career of fantasy hair and makeup creations, she came across the quote ‘Only those who see the invisible can do the impossible’ in a photography magazine she happened to be flipping through. She cut it out, and taped it up on the wall of her apartment. Throughout her career she always came back to this quote. Even referring to it in photoshoot production meetings when presenting her ideas that were far past the limits of some of her peers’ imaginations. Thinking out of the box is Loalynda’s specialty. Visualizing in her head all the possibilities of her creations before she starts to physically create. This mindset took Loalynda all the way through Hollywood, and to her Emmy nomination for ‘Before the Laughter’. Whether it was working on a movie set doing special effects to a print fashion shoot creating futuristic body paint masterpieces, she has always strived for her work to inspire. To push past the limits of what most would call impossible.

“If you are working somewhere and really don’t like it, it’s the wrong fit for you. Don’t give up. Start looking for something that does fit you!”

When Loalynda got her first professional job she was initially filled with excitement that she had gotten hired! Then as time went on the dread started to settle in. When she just couldn’t stand it anymore, she felt this strong urge to simply walk out and quit all together. Not only quit the job, but give up on that creative profession as a whole. The reality of the path of hair and makeup wasn’t quite what she had in mind. So she did quit. Though after 2 months jobless, her mother encouraged her to just give it one more chance. You can’t let your first experience of something determine the impression of an entire world of possibilities within a path. That one more try that Loalynda gave, led her right into a world of endless possibilities.
