CRÉATEUR’s Unpublished Créative K. Van Petten

K. is a Seattle-based creative who challenges conventional boundaries with their work. Their creative expression fuses poetry, music, and ritualistic performance, creating projects that blend sampled sounds from a specific time and place with original music and poetry. By intertwining elements from different realms, K. invites the audience into the past and present, where real and imagined converge.

You can find their music under 'Baddy Gold' and their poems in zines floating around Seattle coffee shops.

"Words are what sticks to the real." - Jack Spicer.

This quote guides K.'s creative philosophy, emphasizing the fluidity and ambiguity of language. K. understands that words are guides and gestures toward meaning. By embracing this perspective, K. expands the possibilities of creative expression and invites us to discover new perspectives through their work.

Dali's Tarot Deck is my favorite creative tool. Tarot opens doors to the unknown. It gives our brains space to imagine within limits. It's just loose enough in its imagery that entire worlds can emerge, but tight enough that specificity is centered.” - K. Van Petten
